Nokia Lumia 1080 Mockup Runs Windows Phone 8.1 Concept

The folks of Neowin.com tried to imagine how Windows Phone 8.1 will look like and in the process created a brand new Nokia handset. I should rather say phablet, since the Nokia Lumia 1080 is a 5.5 inch device with a stylus and serious handwriting input.

Nokia Lumia 1080 features a Super AMOLED screen with Full HD resolution, it measures 8.5 mm in thickness and weighs 160 grams. It comes in 32 GB and 64 GB versions and it offers a microSD card slot with support for up to 64 GB in extra storage. There’s 7 GB of cloud storage available and 2 GB of RAM among the specs. Inside the Lumia 1080 there’s a quad core Snapdragon 800 processor at 2.3 GHz, the Adreno 330 GPU and at the back we’ve got a 16 megapixel Pureview camera with dual LED flash and 1080p 60 FPS video capture.

There’s a 2.2 MP front camera, a 3200 mAh battery inside and Gorilla Glass 3 protection upfront. We’ve also got a fingerprint reader at the back of the phablet and a beautiful stylus shown in the images below. The handset uses a polycarbonate body and as far as Windows Phone 8.1 goes, it comes with a greater flexibility of the Live Tile display. There’s a broader range of customization to personalize your device.
Displays over 5.5 inches with Full HD resolutions can show up to 6 tiles across the Start screen. On lower resolution displays the maximum tile width is 4. You can also break your Start screen in sections and make it easier to find content and apps you need. Finally, the Neowin Windows Phone 8.1 conceptintroduces a new Notifications Hub, in which events are logged as they happen.

iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 Wraparound Display Concepts Look Hot! (Video)

Created by Fabio Basile and Claudio Guglieri, the new iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 concepts shown below are based on the idea of a wraparound screen. The video is created by Ran Avni and both devices are very interesting.

The iPhone 5S features a wrap around screen, iOS 7, the Apple A7 processor and a brand new design with a 4.2 inch screen. We’ve also got a new Home button and much more novelties, including probably a 12 megapixel camera with dual LED flash. The iPhone 6 adopts the same wraparound edge to edge display idea, a new Home button and improved cameras.

There’s a capacitive volume indicator on board, the Apple A7X chip, a thinner case and a 5.1 inch screen. Overall, the design is greatly similar to the iPhone 5, apart from the bezel free screen and the very decreased thickness of the iPhone 6. Would you buy a beautiful slab of metal and glass like these?

Nokia Lumia 1025 Phablet concept

The brilliant account Phone Designer on Facebook is in fact the place where you can find the works of Jonas Daehnert, a great designers of Nokia concept phones. His latest work involves the Nokia Lumia 1025 phablet, with a 6 inch 1920 x 1152 pixel screen.

The design is inspired by the leaks shown below, that have been appearing on the web lately, saying we’re bound to get a Nokia phablet launched in the near future. Nokia has a big event scheduled for September 25th or so, maybe a return of its famous Nokia World series of events. Anyway, back to the Lumia 1025, this phablet features a 15:9 aspect, it’s just 8 mm thick and it’s a power house.

The design seems to be metallic and we get a 12 megapixel Pureview camera at the back. The camera area resembles the one of the Nokia Lumia 1020, so this is basically that model, only bigger and probably packing a stylus somewhere on the side. We already showed you another Nokia Lumia 1025 concept  and they keep on coming!

Nintendo Smartphone - Better Than Wii U " Video "

Nintendo has been struggling a bit to sell the Wii U and recently there was a rumor that they may implement Android smartphone games on this console. Now, straight from T3 comes a brand new concept phone: the Nintendo smartphone.

The device looks a bit like a futuristic Samsung Galaxy S concept, one that’s very thin and has two interesting physical buttons at the bottom, aside from the Home one. The plus and minus button were also present on the Wiimote, which you probably know if you’ve seen it. The Nintendo phone comes as an answer to the new Xbox and the PS4.

Obviously you get a ton of Nintendo games, all of them running natively on the device. The lower area of the device totally reminds me of an iPad Mini and the specs of the Nintendo phone include a 5 inch Full HD AMOLED screen, 2 GB of RAM, Nvidia Tegra 5 graphics and a 2 GHz Snapdragon 8 core CPU. There’s also Wii U Chat on board, basically a Facetime alternative, Wii U connectivity support and a Community app with leaderboards, achievements and Cross Play is here as well.
There’s even a gamepad accessory pictured above… How cool is this gizmo?

Nokia Lumia Play : Fantastic Gaming Phone

When you think about a gaming phone, either the PSP Phone pops up or the occasional Xbox handset concept. The latter is also the case today, through the Nokia Lumia Play render, done by Antonio Celestino. Describing this as an “Xbox Phone” is not at all far from the truth, since we’re dealing with a smartphone that’s also a pretty powerful console.

Nokia Lumia Play, a Gaming Phone Powered by Microsoft Xbox Technology

Nokia Lumia Play features two game pads at the back of the phone and they can extend out and be used as such, improving the gaming experience. It is also possible to use the device as a gamepad when interacting with an Xbox 360 console. The device features a high definition 1136 x 640 pixel display, a touchscreen with Gorilla Glass protection. There’s also a 5 megapixel front camera capable of 720p videos, while at the back there’s a 10 megapixel camera with Full HD video capture.
This Nokia concept phone runs Windows Phone 8 and measures 7.6 mm in thickness. Lumia Play offers both a directional pad and action buttons, plus there should be some minor shoulder buttons available, although I’m not so sure. The handset has a pretty unusual shape, seen from the front with lots of straight edges and straight lines, so without curves. No specs were mentioned, but a quad core CPU and 2 GB of RAM would be welcome. Is such a phone possible?

Learn All About Making The Most Of An IPad

When used with skill, an iPad can revolutionize how you are able to accomplish many tasks. However, it's important that time is spent on learning all there is know about the iPad. Read below to optimize the use of your iPad.

You can reboot your iPad when it freezes by doing a soft reset. For a soft reset, you will need to simultaneously hold the home button and power button for several seconds. Wait for your iPad to reboot. To force an app closed, hold down the home button around a few seconds.

If you want to browse a new web page without losing track of what you were browsing before, use the tabbed browsing feature. When in Safari, tap and hold a URL to see a popup menu. In this menu, you'll be able to get links opened in new tabs.

FaceTime phone numbers and emails should be set up. The iPad, by default, includes the initial email you used for installation, but it is possible to add others. If you need FaceTime to recognize additional numbers or addresses, it is possible to use the "settings" area to accomplish that.

It is possible to sync pages by using iTunes so that documents can be shared with Macs or PCs. Sharing your documents is no longer a hassle and the ability to interact with any brand of home computer via iTunes is irreplaceable. Functions like emailing and downloading PDFs have become very easy.

It's simple to find the apps which are running. Just double click the home button, and you'll see them on the bottom of the screen. This little trick saves a ton of time, as you don't have to scroll through screens to access something.

There are some easy techniques for handling the battery life of an iPad. Don't leave it in a hot car during the summer. Keep the brightness level of the screen low. Turn on the airplane mode if you have no need for the Internet. It is also helps to turn Push off. Instead, manually refresh your email when you have the time.

The cloud function is particularly useful if you get online a lot. This is a convenient method of storing information without using up valuable hard drive space. Make sure to keep important information on your device and iCloud as well.

Is your iPad getting slower, causing your apps to not load as fast? Have you deleted all the things you no longer use on your iPad, but it's still slow? If so, then transfer some of your pictures and media to the cloud so that you can have even more free space. In most cases, this makes the iPad as fast as it once was.

Did you know you can connect your TV to your iPad? This can be done through a special adapter. The AV digital adapter will do this, or you can also use the VGA Apple adapter. Either one will work.

PDFs can be put on the iPad through two methods. You can sync through iTunes, or send the file through email. Try both ways and see which ones works best for you.

The iPad cloud function is very helpful for people who use the Internet a lot. Use the cloud to store things without taking up valuable space on the device itself. Store your content on the device and iCloud if it is very important to you.

If you are an iPad user you no doubt love it. Learn all that you can to make the most of iPad in your daily life. By heeding the information found above, you will be ready to take full advantage of what the iPad has to offer.

iOS 7 Could Look Like This (Video)

This is What iOS 7 Could Look Like (Video)

iOS 7 is about a month away from being unveiled at WWDC 2013 and till then I guess we have a few more concepts of the OS to check out. As you know probably, the team behind the software is now lead by Sir Jonathan Ive, leaving behind the work of Scott Forstall. This means a new approach to a new iOS…

Till that comes we get this iOS 7 concept, based on simplicity and a new set of icons. Simply Zesty created this project, or better said their Art Director, Philip Joyce did, who also came up with the video below to showcase the new UI. The lockscreen in iOS 7 keeps the slide to unlock mechanism, but now it takes up less screen estate and it’s placed at the top of the screen, in order to give options like Siri, camera and maps more room on the screen.

This is What iOS 7 Could Look Like (Video)

The colors of the overall UI are now more vivid and each and every icon has had a revamp. The iPod app UI reminds me of Soundcloud, plus this iOS 7.0 concept also features a widget Centre, that allows the user to customize the homescreen with widgets that seem cooler than those on Android. Siri also gets smarter and it’s more deeply integrated. What do you think of this concept iOS?

The specs of the new Nokia handset are very good and include the Windows Phone 8+ OS and a dual core setup (1+1) 1.2 – 1.8 GHz.

Google Smartwatch Render

Let’s take a break from high end concept phones and check out a Google Nexus Smartwatch, a device that’s supposedly in the making right now. Every big company out there is supposed to be making a watch, from Apple’s iWatch to similar products made by LG, Samsung and even Microsoft.

The folks of T3 published this render of a Nexus smartwatch from Google, one that has a minimalistic look and a square screen. It has Google Sync, allowing you to get contacts, messaging and alerts on your small screen. There’s also the typical 3 buttons (Back, Home, Multitasking), but they’re not displayed all the time.

The Google Smartwatch has Google Now integrated and probably a lot of voice commands. It also comes with a comfy belt, multiple color versions, probably a front camera and the ability to place calls from it. Pair this up with the Google Glass and you have a winner!
