“TPM VIPNI” is the latest concept phone designed by Innovator/Designer Imran sheikh. This device is not just another cell phone or a new UMPC device. It’s something more than that; It’s referred  as a PCP i.e. “Professional Computer Phone”. The design of TPM VIPINI began with inspiration to create a device that can bring power of a full blown professional computer to Pocket. A device that can help us perform our professional work without any compromise to battery power, usability and pocketability. This device should have all the usability and productivity of “X86” architecture along with all the reliability and dependability of ARM processing.
Please note, like other devices on our site thepowermachines.com this phone also doesn’t belong to any company but TPM aka “Thepowermachines.com”… the design is Original and is not inspired from anywhere, or upgrade to any existing design/device

The OS of choice for TPM VIPNI is Microsoft Windows 8 Pro (not Windows RT for ARM), which Dual boots along with the secondary mobile operating system Windows Phone 8. This is possible with the power of “ARM” because this whole system is powered by Quad Core ARM Processor.
All these features allow users perform their professional work with ease on a light weight energy efficient pocketable yet reliable eco system of ARM while keeping the device sleek enough (thickness of 9.8 mm).

X86 on ARM How?
The main purpose of the TPM-VIPNI PCP is to provide power of X86 & usability of ARM in one device at the same time. The problem with X86 processors is that they are less energy efficient and emit lots of heat while on the other hand ARM processors are powerful yet more heat and energy efficient.
So what we did in TPM-VIPNI is that we used ARM Processor to power a full blown X86 Operating System i.e. Microsoft Windows 8 Professional (not the ARM one).
Below is the diagram of the concept that explains how it is done.
The concept diagram explains how a super under clocked X86 processor is used as an interpreter or a bridge between the Quad core ARM processor and the X86 based operating system.
Design Elements
  1. Unique “Leaf Odd Curve” body design
  1. Original TPM.KEYBOARD.1” design keyboard This keyboard features:
  • A full QWERTY layout
  • Designed with all PC keyboard function and control keys
  • Integrated mouse with three mouse buttons
  • Integrated gaming keypad
  • Grip angle key rotation
  • Relocated numeric keys for semi slide to reveal

Operates in two modes:
  • Feather mode (capacitive mode) for fast finger typing
  • Thumb mode for thumb press typing
Integrated Mouse Features:
  • Original dual located mouse i.e. buttons at one position & mouse pad at other position
  • Gives user a comfort of using both hands in mouse operations
Even useful for designers and hardcore gamers
Integrated Gamepad Features:
Unique arrangement of buttons and keyboard design keeping usability for hardcore gamers in mind without losing the functionality of QWERTY layout. This gives users a unique experience to switch between gaming and professional work without hassle.
Blank Button:
  • This keyboard is designed with a blank button and it is not there by mistake. The reason I added this button on keypad is for times when we need to keep screen or monitor awake for something important but the screen turns off due to timeout.
In such a scenario if we press a button or keep pressing a button taking the risk of that button not to be on the command list of that particular program (e.g. 3dsmax or Photoshop with lots of shortcuts), So to overcome this problem this blank button can help. You can press it without any worries of interfering with any running program. The “Blank Button” is never associated with any program in any operating system. Exclusive Number Positioning:
  • Unique bottom line positioning of numeric and function keys (win)
Benefits of this design are that you just need to semi slide to reveal a full classic mobile phone keypad. Its grip angle lets you comfortably use keypad in both landscape and portrait mode. It lets you dial number, make a call and end a call It also has a mouse pad (press left click and long press for right click)
Original “Top-Bottom” Speaker Setup
  • Speakers are located in both top and bottom, so you never need to worry you held the phone correct or not. Just pick up the phone and answer and the call.
Original “TPM-STYLUS” Design
  • “TPM-STYLUS-1” is simple yet effectively designed stylus with a unique design and high precession. It occupies very less space inside TPM-VIPNI.
Central 3D Camera Placement
  • Central Placement of 3d Camera at the back which gives you the perfect judgment of what you are capturing.
A good example for usability of this cameras placement is when you try to take picture of a document or an old printed picture or a flat subject at a short distance and fail to align it to the complete screen straight in the regular corner alignment. But a central camera allows you to capture the document the way you think you are capturing it, without any confusion.
TAP Controlled UI
This is most important feature for users working in mobile mode. As you might have observed that we have not exposed any control buttons on front side of TPM-VIPNI. TPM-VIPINI has a new feature of “Tap Controlled Buttons”. This Tap Controlled System is based on accelerometer built inside the system. The UI is fully TAP Controlled in Mobile mode as well as Touch Screen mode.   The major difference between a Tap and Touch screen gestures is that “the touch screen gesture will work on a touch as it should but a Tap controlled UI is controlled by an Accelerometer which detects a Tap and ignores the Touch gesture”. The device is logically divided into four quadrants (yes, the whole device and not just the screen. refer diagram below).Tapping in different regions on a fixed combination will issue commands like “Home”, “Back”, “Menu”, etc. For e.g. Double tapping bottom left quadrant will navigate screen to “Home”. Double tap on bottom right will open up “Menu” and so on. The Tap Control works in two ways:
Pattern control – i.e. the device uses a fixed pattern of taps at fixed spots (four quads or center) of the screen to issue a command. This works well when the screen is active. This feature is not tied to the touch on capacitive screen, a command is received and its accelerometer. So you can tap even on a non-screen area to issue a command (except the one that requires central tap). These tap commands are unique so they won’t interfere with any app commands. e.g. browser double tap or and gaming key combination or multi touch gestures.
Rhythm Control – The device uses a fixed rhythm of unique tapson any part of device to issue a command and control it. You can record these custom tap rhythms
  • A fixed rhythm to unlock the phone no finger sliding required
  • Imagine you are in a busy train or a very crowded place with headphones on, but can’t find the tiny button to answer the call, but with TPM–VIPNI all you need to do is tap in the predefined rhythm and answer the call without even unlocking the phone or pulling the phone out of the pocket.
  • In an emergency situation you can tap a particular rhythm to make an emergency call or message without taking out TPM–VIPNI from your pocket or bag.
The device is equipped with diagonal accelerometers couple which divides the whole device into 4 quads plus one center. Further it can pinpoint exactly which position (quad or center) you are tapping, and it can easily distinguish between a fall, a tap and or some other vibrations.
Bottom Fold Capacitive Mouse
TPM – VIPNI comes with some unique ways for input, there is one more input method which gives users a classic laptop touchpad input experience. So, the user doesn’t need to adapt according to TPM-VIPNI because it will adapt for you
TPM-VIPNI’s touchpad is a unique mouse touchpad because it’s the thinnest and foldable. The unique design is obtained from a multi touch capacitive tab which smartly folds to the bottom. So it will only appear when required.
X86 ON ARM
TPM-VIPNI is a one of a kind PCP. This implies you can perform your professional work on this device along with gaming and communication. To provide this flexibility, TPM-VIPNI PCP is powered by “dual operating systems”.
